The Griffin Food Security Project is a two-year effort funded by a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture. As of January, 1999, the GFSP is involved in the following major efforts: a community garden, nutrition classes, GED instruction, and employment assistance. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
The Need | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Five Loaves and Two Fish Food Pantry currently serves about 650 families per month. This represents about 1500 individuals. Of these people, the following statistics have been gathered: 45 percent are under 18, 10 percent are over 65, 33 percent of those between 18 and 65 are disabled, and 33 percent of those between 18 and 65 are employed. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
